Objective:
- To support the President and Club Committee stick to its agreed priorities
- To be a primary leader inside the club
- To further the interests of the club by being an external representative of the club.
Responsibilities:
1. Committee Management
Chair Club Committee and General Meetings (when President is absent)
Set/select the agenda of club Committee meetings (when President is absent)
Ensure Committee conversations reflect the roles and responsibilities of the Committee (when President is absent)
2. Leadership
- Ensure a flow of relevant information to the Club Committee
- Maintain strong relationships with staff and committee members
- Ensure organisational awareness of all policies, duties, and responsibilities via induction and communications processes
3. Representation
- Develop and maintain partnerships with organisations where they align with the club’s adopted Strategic Plan
- Ability to lead people and manage team dynamics
- Ability to be task-oriented during meetings to achieve intended outcomes within short timeframes
- Ability to listen to stakeholders
- Ability to communicate key messages to a variety of stakeholders
- Understand the processes and procedures for Committee meetings and General meetings
- Have a broad and increasing knowledge of all governance components involved in running a club including; risk management, financial management, duties of Office-Bearers, legal considerations, strategy development, and stakeholder management
- Knowledge of key stakeholders including increasing awareness of their agendas, partnerships, and strategies.

- Notify the club’s Child Safety Officer (or Committee) about any new risks or hazards to child safety
- Notify the club’s Child Safety Officer (or Committee) about any child safety-related concerns
This role has the following child safety and wellbeing requirements:
The person in this role must:
- undergo a child safety screening and referee checking process before commencing in their role
- undergo a short induction on the club’s child safety practices
- undergo child safety training suitable for a Committee Member and manager of volunteers/staff
- have the skills to be respectful to children and comply with the club’s child safety practices
- have a reasonable awareness of the diverse needs of children including how to create a culturally safe environment
This role involves direct contact with children and access to personal information.
