Social Media & Community Engagement Manager - PD

Objective:

  • To engage our members and the broader community in the life of the club via Social Media & E-news

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Committee and/or Communications team to adapt the club’s annual communications & marketing plan
  • Create or adapt the club’s annual social media plan
  • Monitor and moderate the club’s social media accounts ensuring that content adheres to the club’s Social Media and Communications Policy
  • Coordinate the compilation of member e-Newsletters so that each newsletter can include relevant information from stakeholders including the club committee, events volunteers, and sponsorship coordinator
  • Submit a request to the committee for the required annual communications budget (if any)
  • Provide annual feedback to the committee on communications systems, policies, and strategy
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong administrative and time management skills
  • Ability, or willingness to learn, how to use email, social media, Microsoft Word, and potentially basic graphic design programs eg, Preview, Canva, Paint
  • Understanding of how social media and digital communications work
  • Strong understanding of club policies such as Social Media & Communications policy and finance policy

This role has the following child safety and wellbeing requirements: 

The person in this role must:

  • undergo a child safety screening and referee checking process before commencing in their role
  • undergo a short induction on the club’s child safety practices
  • have the skills to be respectful to children and comply with the club’s child safety practices
  • have a basic awareness of the diverse needs of children.

This role will have direct contact with children including in online environments.

This role will make decisions that impact children.

This role will have access to the personal information of children.
