Social Events Coordinator PD

Objective:

  • To coordinate club events in accordance with the priorities identified by the committee and the member engagement plan

Responsibilities:

  • To plan social events for the club in accordance with the Committee’s priorities for culture creation, fund-raising, and member recruitment
  • To work with the club Communication and Social Media personnel to ensure events are well promoted
  • To ensure events are delivered safely and successfully
  • Ability to plan events in a prompt and organised fashion using our event planner (or similar)
  • Ability to communicate with others and work in a team
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Broad event planning-related knowledge in areas such as hospitality, marketing/communications, and risk management
  • Project management skills such as creation of deadlines, holding outcome-focused team meetings, driving accountability, and thinking ahead to remove barriers to success of the project
  • Use of communication platforms such as SMS, Email, and social media

  • Notify the club’s Child Safety Officer (or Committee) about any new risks or hazards to child safety
  • Notify the club’s Child Safety Officer (or Committee) about any child safety-related concerns

This role has the following child safety and wellbeing requirements: 

The person in this role must:

  • undergo a child safety screening and referee checking process before commencing in their role
  • undergo a short induction on the club’s child safety practices
  • have the skills to be respectful to children and comply with the club’s child safety practices
  • have a basic awareness of the diverse needs of children.

This role may have direct contact with children in circumstances including but not limited to where volunteers are aged under 18. This role may have access to the personal information of children.

This role may have indirect contact with children.
