Grant Writer

Objective:

  • To gain grant funding for the club by identifying, writing, and acquitting grants

Responsibilities:

  • To identify relevant grants and forward to the club committee for consideration
  • To write and apply for grants in accordance with committee priorities
  • To acquit grants that have been successfully received and executed by providing relevant paperwork to the funder within their timelines
  • Ability to regularly check emails, social media, and other information sources regarding grant opportunities
  • Strong ability to write succinctly, coherently, and with clear reasoning
  • Strong time and project management skills to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of various grants and likelihood of club success
  • Knowledge of club priorities so that successful grants achieve desired outcomes
  • Knowledge of the potential funder’s priorities so that grant applications are highly relevant

  • Notify the club’s Child Safety Officer (or Committee) about any child safety-related concerns

This role has the following child safety and wellbeing requirements: 

The person in this role must:

  • undergo a child safety screening and referee checking process before commencing in their role
  • undergo a short induction on the club’s child safety practices
  • have the skills to be respectful to children and comply with the club’s child safety practices
  • have a basic awareness of the diverse needs of children.

This role is unlikely to have direct contact with children. There may be circumstances where the grants officer liaises with volunteers who are under the age of 18.

This role may have indirect contact with children.
